Lindsey Stirling Brings Her Theatrical Show To Boston

Lindsey Stirling brings her theatrical production to MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, MA with support from the band Walk Off The Earth.
Unlike most concert tours, this tour only had one opener which was Walk Off The Earth. Out of all bands to pick to open, Walk Off The Earth is a unique group that is known for rising to fame from for their pop covers from YouTube. All of the members not only sing but play an array of instruments which makes for not only an interesting sound but a fun performance. All of the members jumped from different instruments and took turns on vocals as well as harmonizing with all members. The performance kept the crowd on their toes and captivated, eager to see what was next.

Next was the star of the night, Lindsey Stirling. Arguably the most famous violinist in the country, if not the world, it is not often that a solo instrumentalist can fill a venue as big as MGM Fenway. The crowd was buzzing with excitement as Lindsey took the stage. From the very beginning of the performance she kept the audience on their toes and glued to the performance. There was a curtain hung which would usually be dropped at the beginning of a performance but instead she walked in front of it, a light show with shadows happening behind her as the first song’s performance.

This was not only a concert but a true production in every sense of the word. Lindsey did everything from dance across the stage as fast as the music she was playing, interact with her backup dancers in choreographed numbers, fly through the air on several circus like elements and much more while not missing a single note in her intricate and high paced songs. There was almost every visual element that you could imagine as a part of the show. There was jaw dropping moments like Lindsey playing while up in the air while only hanging by one leg and more soft and beautiful moments like petals falling with dancers surrounding her.

The crowd was clearly impressed, clapping and cheering in between every song and even during the songs in some cases. Lindsey is clearly a talented musician and you would know that by listening to any of her music, but this performance proved that she is also a talented dancer and performer.

There was some moments in between songs that Lindsey took to talk to the crowd. The crowd focused on her every word. She brought up her charity, The Upside Fund, from that a portion of all ticket and merch sales are donated to. She touched on how much money she has raised with the charity since opening it four years ago and it’s cause, helping those with medical debt. She also touched on the topic of anxiety, explaining how breath work had helped her over the last several years and opening up about some of her own struggles she’s had in the past with mental health. Following that topic, she included breath work into her following song and encouraged the audience to join in.

Overall this performance had almost every element that you could have asked for in a live musical show and almost comes across as a play there is so much production value packed into it. It checks every box, will leave your jaw on the ground, and wanting to see the next show the next time Lindsey Stirling comes to town.
