John 5 Plays An Electrifying Performance at Wally’s In Hampton Beach, NH

John 5 brings along some friends to Wally’s for an unforgettable night of live music and unbelievable guitar playing.

The first band of the evening was rock band from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, formed in November, 2018 by Paddo and Seamus Devine Club 9-Ball. The Devine brothers were part of the cover band Someone’s Little Brother, Paddo on lead guitar and vocals, and Seamus on drums, but they really wanted to focus on writing new music. That focus led to their first EP, Tomorrowland, released just six months later. Club 9 Ball quickly became popular on Cape Cod and could be seen at bars across the Cape, as well as in Boston, the North Shore and Providence. In early 2020, the youngest Devine brother, Macklin, joined the band at bass. In Spring of 2023, the boys were commissioned by Cape Rep Theatre to write and star in an original musical, ARCHIBALD AVERY, a cacophony of murder and rhyme, featuring 23 original songs. Their latest album Bad Weather is out and streaming everywhere.

As they came to the stage the fans were piling into the venue. The fans were enjoying their songs and the ones that knew them were singing along.

They played a mix of songs from their old music and some of their new music that the fans seemed to enjoy. They put on a great show.

The next band of the evening was dynamic all-girls rock band hailing from Los Angeles Turning Jane. Taylor Heart, Izzy, Jordi and Marin are talented musicians that bring together a diverse range of influences, resulting in a sound that is both timeless and contemporary. Their music seamlessly fuses elements of classic rock, pop, and alternative, creating a sonic experience that captivates audiences and leaves them craving for more.

Known for their electrifying live performances, they captivate crowds with their high-octane energy and undeniable stage presence. Their dynamic chemistry and tight musicianship create an unforgettable live experience that leaves fans exhilarated and wanting more.

Turning Jane commanded the stage with a raw, electrifying Lead vocalist and guitarist, Jamie Turner, immediately drew the crowd in with her powerful, emotive voice and charismatic stage presence. Her energy was contagious, setting the tone for what would be a night of unforgettable performances.

The band’s setlist was a blend of fan favorites and new tracks from their latest album, Eclipse of the Heart. Opening with the pulsating anthem “Daydream,” the band showcased their signature blend of gritty rock with nuanced, introspective lyrics. The final performer of the evening was American guitarist John William Lowery, who is known by the stage name John 5. John 5 first took the stage name in 1998 when he left David Lee Roth’s solo band and joined Marilyn Manson. later became the guitarist for Rob Zombie, and in 2022, became the touring guitarist for Mötley Crüe.
His stage name was given to him by Manson and refers to both the Bible chapter and him being the fifth member of Manson’s band.  John 5 released his tenth solo album entitled Sinner on October 29, 2021.

From the moment the lights dimmed and the first notes of “Crank It” echoed through the venue, it was clear that John 5 was here to captivate and dazzle. The intimate setting proved to be the perfect venue for such a performance, allowing fans to experience every nuance of John 5’s intricate guitar work up close.

John 5 immediately showcased his virtuosity, effortlessly blending complex fingerpicking with lightning-fast shredding. His technical prowess was on full display, and it was impossible not to be entranced by his seamless transitions and innovative techniques.

John 5’s bandmates were equally impressive. Drummer Alex Mercardo and David Vela, John’s guitar tech, provided a rock-solid foundation on bass for a few songs, complementing John 5’s dynamic performance with precision and energy. Mercardo’s drumming was particularly noteworthy, driving the rhythm with a ferocity that matched the intensity of John 5’s playing.
