Ice Nine Kills make their return to Worcester for Silver Scream Con IV for a weekend filled with music, horror, and entertainment.
This was the first day of the three day horror convention. Outside the concert hall, Silver Scream Con IV lived up to its name as a genre-blending festival. The night was over and now the fans were headed to the DCU Center to see Ice Nine Kills in concert.
The music centerpiece delivered exactly what fans came for: high-energy sets packed with theatrical flair. Ice Nine Kills, the masterminds behind the convention, headlined with their signature cinematic production. From blood-splattered props to intricate stage storytelling, they blurred the line between concert and horror theater, proving once again why they’ve become one of the most innovative forces in modern metalcore.
Ice Nine Kills took the stage with a vengeance, delivering a show that was less a concert and more a full-blown horror production. Known for blending metalcore ferocity with theatrical storytelling, the band transformed the venue into their own twisted movie set, complete with blood-soaked props, elaborate costumes, and spine-chilling skits woven seamlessly into the music.
From the opening notes, the crowd was locked in. Vocalist Spencer Charnas commanded the stage like a horror host gone rogue, his screams and clean vocals cutting through the chaos with precision. Tracks like “Rainy Day” and “Hip to Be Scared” weren’t just performed—they were acted out, with masked killers, axes, and even stage blood turning each song into its own scene straight out of a slasher flick.
Highlights included the chilling “The Shower Scene”, where suspense built like Hitchcock’s infamous masterpiece before exploding into chaos, and “Welcome to Horrorwood”. The other highlight which ignited the fans, featured Rhea Ripley being murdered on stage by Art the clown, during the song “A Work Of Art” The fans went into a frenzy as the band continued their infamous skits.
By the end, the audience wasn’t just watching a concert—they had lived through a horror film brought to life. Ice Nine Kills proved once again that they are more than a band. They are curators of chaos, auteurs of fear, and masters of turning heavy music into immersive theater. For fans of both horror and metal, their live show is an absolute must-see experience—one that leaves you thrilled, terrified, and already hungry for the sequel.
The final day of the weekend was more of the same. Fans got to revisit the vendors they didn’t get a chance to see the days before or got to see their favorite actor/actors/directors they didn’t see the previous two days.
