Slash with Myles Kennedy at The House of Blues in Boston, Ma

It was a cold and rainy night in Boston at the House of Blues. The line stretched on forever down Lansdowne Street, but that didn’t kill the vibe, excitement or anticipation from the crowd. They were ready, eagerly awaiting to be let into the nearly sold out show to see the highly critically acclaimed world famous guitarist Slash.


Once fans entered the House of Blues it didn’t take long for the place to fill up. Before too long it was time for the first act to start. The three level venue was filled to capacity and the fans were ready for the music. First to hit the stage was Plush. They are an all-female rock band. They are trying to bring rock back to the forefront of the music industry. Their set was short which consisted of seven songs. It was compiled with mostly originals but also threw in a cover of  Heart’s “Barracuda.” You could tell they were ready to rock by their movements, their energy and how they rocked their instruments. For an up and coming band there is definitely more to see. If you have a chance you need to check them out. They put on a performance you don’t want to miss.

 

After a short break, legendary guitarist Slash, appeared on stage in silhouette form, He brought with him on stage his band Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators. They had a monster set list consisting of twenty one songs that were nothing short of amazing. It was filled with phenomenal guitar solos from Slash and amazing vocals from Myles Kennedy. They opened up the night with “Driving Rain,” from their album Living the Dream.
They brought eccentric energy which lasted their entire set. They played a variety of songs one of which was “Back from Cali,” which was an original Slash tune. “Always On The Run,” a Lenny Kravitz cover. They also threw in “Speed Parade,” which is from Slash’s snake pit. Miles Kennedy took to the mic stating, “this next new song is inspired by my dog at least lyrically, Slash brought out his double neck guitar to play the beginning solo of their new song “Fill My World,” A few songs in, they took covers to a whole new level when they played  their rendition of “Rocket Man” by Elton John. This left the crowd in utter awe. This is definitely something that fans were anxious to hear. A legendary song mixed with monstrous guitar solos. This is something you don’t get to see very often where the crowd was left speechless.

After a few moments later Milles Kennedy got the crowd clapping along to their song “Your A Lier” They played one more song before their encore, which consisted with yet another solo by Slash, “World On Fire.” Miles came to the mic and introduced the band. When it came time to introduce Slash he said “Ladies and Gentlemen, lets raise the roof on this place for Slash!! (explicit language) The crowd gave Miles and the rest of the band a standing ovation before walking off the stage for a short break. Within a few moments of leaving the stage, the sound of Slash’s guitar was heard yet again for another solo. The last song of the night was “Anastasia” The crowd was screaming ,energized and pumped to be able to have seen such an amazing performance by Slash with Miles Kennedy And The Conspirators. Once the set was done the band came to the front of the stage for one final bow. If you have a chance to see them you will not be disappointed. This is such a legendary night of rock and roll. It is a night we will not forget.
