Album Review of The Story So Far’s newest album I Want To Disappear

The Story So Far‘s latest release is their full length album called I Want To Disappear. This release has been long awaited, being the band’s biggest biggest gap with nearly six years since their last release. I Want To Disappear is the band’s fifth album, released on June 21st 2024.

The first single from the album that was released was “Big Blind”, there wasn’t word of the new album however until the second single “Letterman” was released. With the band forming in 2007, they are now considered a staple part of the pop-punk music, often compared to bands such as Real Friends, The Wonder Years, or Movements. They have a sound that is all their own, keeping true to their roots with this newest release.

This album would hook any existing fan in with the band staying true to their already existing sound and clever song writing. Song writing covers various topics such as heartbreak, complexities of relationships, love, closure, connection, loss, pain – you name it. To put it simply, the songs offer something for almost anyone to relate to on some level.

It is a great point for anyone who has been curious about the band up to this point, at only 28 minutes long, the album is a quick and easy listen. It is perfect for a relaxing car ride or to unwind on your way to or from work. The album is rounded off with the only acoustic song, the album titled track “I Want To Disappear”, the perfect emo ending for this album.
