The evening started with a hard rock duo hailing from Connecticut, Robot Monster. On guitar is Will Brennan and keeping the beat on drums is Logan Sidle. These new-comers to the music scene have already accumulated over 26k followers on Instagram. And it is no wonder with their high-energy performance on stage that immediately grabs the attention of the crowd. They played a strong seven-song set, including their new singles, “Caged” and “Big Bad Now.” They mentioned how honored they were to be playing with STP and the crowd cheered in anticipation of the main event.
The crowd continued to fill in and after a short break between sets, the lights went down and the fans responded with cheers and applause. Stone Temple Pilots, headed by front man, Jeff Gutt, came out strong with their hit, “Wicked Garden.” STP fans were in for a great night of music with an energetic and exciting performance by this amazing group of musicians. Fans, old and new, were in attendance. The excitement was palpable. During the song, “Down,” Gutt stood up on the barricade and sang the song while leaning into the crowd. The fans were pushed right up to the barricade.
Their set included hit songs spanning their amazing 30-year career, up to their 2018 release, Stone Temple Pilots. Throughout the evening, Gutt frequently interacted with the fans, which they ate right up. STP put on an amazing performance from beginning to end, leaving everyone wanting more. “Piece of Pie,” was to be the last song of the evening…BUT… They came roaring back out to perform “Sex Type Thing” with Sidle and Brennan from Rocket Monster on stage with them. At the end of the night the crowd left exhilarated, not even caring about the light rain that had started to fall.
